[8] This performance was recorded and filmed to become their live album Live Baby Live (a video version was also released under the same title) which was released on 11 November 1991 and peaked in the Top 30 of both the Australian and UK albums charts, 1] 2] but had less success on the Billboard 200. 's editorial reviewer, Tom Keogh, felt "fans can rejoice over the release of this buoyant concert film. the late Michael Hutchence, is at his feral-romantic best, stalking and swiveling his way through an energized set of welterweight pop. 14] Australian country musician, Steve Forde, declared "I missed out on seeing Michael do his thing in person, but that Live Baby Live DVD is bad ass! We put that DVD on the big screen in the front lounge of the tour bus. It's like going to a 101 class to be a frontman rock star. Wembley Stadium chock full, singing every word. Awesome. Inxs 3a baby live at wembley stadium download. Inxs live baby live wembley stadium 1991 dvd concert. This was probably their finest ever performance. The Wembley crowd was rocking. You could feel the ground shaking. Inxs 3a baby live at wembley stadium review. Sem palavras grande momentos eternizados. Six years to the day after Live Aid, Wembley Stadium was rocking to another all-star bill, and the headliners were the biggest Australian rock band in the world. On July 13, 1991, INXS were top of a bill that was packed with big names of the day, also including ‘International Bright Young Thing hitmakers Jesus Jones, Irish favourites Hothouse Flowers (‘Dont Go) melodic San Francisco rock band Jellyfish, British soul-rock outfit Roachford and Deborah Harry, the once and future figurehead of Blondie. The bands tour was called ‘Summer XS with good reason. The sellout crowd that day was estimated at precisely 73, 791, and the box office gross was 1, 426, 617. The event took place as INXS continued to enjoy the status of rock giants both in the UK and around the world. Indeed, at the BRIT Awards five months earlier, they had won Best International Group, while frontman Michael Hutchence was named Best International Male Artist. Their ‘X album, which had debuted at No. 2 there in the autumn of 1990 and already spent an aggregate of eight months on the chart, returned to the top 40 in the wake of the concert, which also led to the ‘Live Baby Live album and longform video release. That album featured highlights from many gigs on the Summer XS tour, not just in London but Paris, Dublin, Glasgow, Rio de Janeiro, Montreal, Spain, Switzerland, Melbourne, Sydney, and US shows in New York, Chicago, Philadelphia and Las Vegas. The accompanying video, directed by David Mallet, captured the whole of the Wembley Stadium performance, with the use of no fewer than 17 cameras. What they recorded was a show that featured all of INXS rock anthems to that point, including ‘New Sensation, ‘Disappear, ‘Original Sin, ‘Suicide Blonde, What You Need, ‘Need You Tonight and ‘Never Tear Us Apart. INXS: Baby Live at Wembly.
Michael Hutchence of Inxs during 1990 MTV VMA's Rehearsal at Universal Amphitheater in Universal. City, CA, United States. (Photo by Jeff Kravitz/FilmMagic, Inc) FilmMagic, Inc On July 13, 1991, INXS performed in front of 74, 000 people at a sold out Wembley Stadium in London, England. It was the bands largest concert to date as frontman Michael Hutchence would inform the crowd on stage, a moment captured by director David Mallet during the groups first live concert film Live Baby Live. The concert was filmed 28 years ago on sixteen 35 mm cameras. A helicopter provided sweeping aerial shots of the band on stage amidst the iconic Wembley throng. The newly restored film will be presented in cinematic widescreen, featuring sound remastered in Dolby Atmos by Giles Martin and Sam Okell at Abbey Road studios, when it hits theaters for one night only courtesy of CinEvents / Eagle Rock Films / Fathom Events on December 9. While the 1991 show, part of the groups massive world tour in support of its seventh studio album X, stood as their biggest headlining performance, it wasnt the first time INXS performed at Wembley. Five years prior, almost to the day, the group did two shows at Wembley Stadium on July 11 and 12, 1986 as the opening act for Queen during the “Magic” tour (the groups final full tour with singer Freddie Mercury. Remarkably, the pair of 1986 shows fell exactly one year after Queens triumphant Wembley performance at Live Aid and loomed large for INXS five years later as they recorded their own headlining performance at the stadium. “It wasnt an entirely easy concert for us to do, the two nights, ” said INXS guitarist Tim Farriss of the opening slot. “After the first night, I was standing where Brian May would stand and the hardcore Queen fans are right down in the very front throwing loaves of bread at us. And we still got a great reaction and it felt like a great gig but it was like, ‘Well, Ive never had anything thrown at me before…” the guitarist joked. “When we got to do it ourselves, it was like, ‘There wont be any bread tonight! ” LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM - JUNE 24: Tim Farriss and Michael Hutchence of INXS perform on stage on the. Kick' tour at Wembley Arena on June 24th, 1988 in London, United Kingdom. (Photo by Pete Still/Redferns) Redferns In 1989, the Rolling Stones launched their enormous “Steel Wheels” world tour, creating an arms race in terms of concert production that still hasnt stopped. But Live Baby Live is a stripped down affair in comparison that thrives thanks to a great band firing on all cylinders, the incomparable presence of one of rocks all time great frontmen and a Wembley crowd characteristically teetering on the brink of being out of control. “Wed played Wembley Stadium before with Queen and theyre amazing. But that had to be a typical English rock extravaganza, which happens really at every stadium show you see. But we didnt go for images of ourselves or balloons or grand pianos, backing vocalists, dancers or anything like that. Its just the six of us, ” Farriss explained. “And Michael hardly even says anything! I just sat there going, ‘Wow! I cant believe we did that. And I cant believe the audience loved it that much. I mean, the music does sound great but it seems to be this cycle going between the audience and the band. ” Free of the trappings that denote most large concerts today, Live Baby Live puts the focus squarely on singer Michael Hutchence and the music of INXS. X followed up the worldwide breakout success of the Kick album in 1987 and the Wembley recording features a band reaching its commercial peak. The newly restored edition of the London concert, which was released digitally and on CD/vinyl earlier this month and hits theaters in December, features for the first time the groups playing that night of the X deep cut “Lately, ” a performance previously thought lost. The groups stature by that point allowed them to take some chances creatively on stage. “The thing about it was the band was so relaxed. We went out there and jammed to start the show. And [INXS drummer] Jonny [Farriss] running out by himself first without any of the rest of us, that wasnt planned. So we all sort of came out and started jamming before he pulls the band in on the first chords and away we go. Thats what you do at a club, not a stadium show! ” said the guitarist. “And [‘Guns in the Sky] wasnt even a hit, ” recalled Farriss of the groups opening cut that night. “Sure, it was a well-known song off the Kick album but, normally, in a stadium show, you might think about opening with a hit. But we just changed the set up a bit and had fun with it. Just seeing the audience really helped the band feel like, ‘This is gonna be fun…” The fun the band appears to be having on stage during the Wembley concert is contagious. And director David Mallet managed to capture a warm exchange between Farriss and Hutchence for posterity. It happened during a particularly incisive rendition of “What You Need. ” Drummer Jon Farriss sets forth a funky beat as the band slows things down for a moment, stretching out to jam. Hutchence shimmies left, wrapping his right arm around his guitarist, and the two have an inaudible exchange during the embrace. Shortly thereafter, Hutchence, laughing, goads the guitarist to, “play the f—-ing riff, Timmy. ” Farriss, also laughing, responds in kind with a searing take on the songs hook - and a measured word for Hutchence - pulling the band from the jam and back into the performance. “Well, it was kind of an inside joke. Because I came up to him and said, ‘Mike, this is the biggest f—-ing pub weve ever played. And he turns around and says it to the audience, ” said Farriss. “So I said to him, ‘Why didnt you tell them I said that? So we were having a bit of a friendly gibe at each other during the night to egg each other on. It was a very, very warm moment between us, I have to admit. It was great. Michael and I did 95% of all of the interviews so we had a certain in joke between us, yes. We were having a fun night. ” UNITED KINGDOM - JUNE 01: WEMBLEY STADIUM Photo of Michael HUTCHENCE and INXS, Michael Hutchence. right) performing on stage (Photo by Fin Costello/Redferns) By the ‘91 Wembley show, Hutchence had established himself as the perfect rock combo of sex appeal and charisma with the substance and depth of the groups catalog to back it all up. He was the rare frontman equally as adept at reaching fans in the front row as he was those at the back of the massive Wembley gathering or on screen in a theater. And he shines during Live Baby Live. “Well, you know, its a funny thing. Ive heard people say that Michael couldve fronted any band. And its like, ‘Well, I suppose… But he didnt, ” said Farriss of the late INXS frontman. “And the thing is that when he started singing with us, he really wasnt the singer. Hed never really sung. He was a schoolkid. Hed messed around with poetry a little bit, ” he continued. “We all sort of grew up together. We were family. And we were all so different. And Michael evolved with us. And he saw his role as the frontman and he started to take that on from way early on. And he got better and better and better at it. And it was a wonderful thing to watch that flower open. ” Director Richard Lowenstein takes a deeper dive into Hutchences world in the new documentary Mystify: Michael Hutchence, a film which hits theaters for one night on January 7, 2020. “Its interesting that Richard Lowensteins film Mystify came out about a really similar time to the Live Baby Live film. And that was kind of a coincidence - but a nicely timed coincidence, ” said Farriss. “Because, on the one hand, you see that that film is all about Michael - its really not to do with us - but then if you entail it with the live Wembley show, they go well together in a way. ” With rumors of a Broadway musical in the works, Mystify and Live Baby Live go a long way toward helping to secure the legacy of both Hutchence and INXS twenty-two years after the singers untimely passing. Its a role Tim Farriss in particular has embraced. As Live Baby Live lands in theaters on December 9, Farriss has only one hope. “So I went to the cinema by myself and watched it. Which is kind of weird. Because there were so many people in the audience of the film I was watching and it was only me watching it [in the theater. But I still clapped, ” joked the guitarist of his private screening. “I was actually blown away to be honest. It was a surreal experience. Id seen it on television. But this was completely different, sitting in the cinema like youre at a concert. I felt like I was watching our concert properly, like I was in the audience. I had never seen us like that. So it was wonderful. It just brought back so many memories of the night, ” Farriss said. “Id love to be in a cinema incognito. In fact, when it comes out, Im probably going to do that. And watch it and see what its like with other people watching it. Because Im dying to see their reactions, you know? I just hope they play it loud. ”. The show has been fully restored from the original 35 mm print to create a new widescreen 4K Ultra HD version, and the film also now includes a previously unseen “lost” track and a brand new Dolby Atmos audio mix by the bands Executive Music Producer Giles Martin and Sam Okell, created at Abbey Road Studios. This stunning concert film will be in cinemas in Australia and New Zealand from November 14th, North and South America from December 9th, and internationally from November 27th. Check for local listings. 1991 had been a spectacular year for INXS. Their album X had been on the charts for eight months, going platinum in the UK as well as double platinum in the US. Winning two Brit Awards, INXS had played a record-breaking run of shows in their Australian homeland, headlined Rock In Rio, and undertaken a sold out tour of the USA. However, it was the events of July 13, 1991 that would take the band into the musical stratosphere. Six years to the day of Live Aid and five years and a day since the band supported Queen at Wembley Stadium, INXS headlined their own show at the famed venue to a sell out crowd of 73, 791 crazed fans with support from Jellyfish, Roachford, Jesus Jones, Deborah Harry, and The Hothouse Flowers. The event, called “Summer XS, ” was immortalized in the best-selling long-form video Live Baby Live, directed by David Mallet, and partly by the album of the same name. Twenty-eight years on, the film has been painstakingly restored over a six month period from the original 35 mm negative to 4K Ultra HD. The film is also now presented in glorious cinematic widescreen, which was created by going through the film shot by shot and repositioning every one to get the best out of the frame. To accompany the astonishing visual upgrade, the audio will now be presented in full Dolby Atmos, created by the bands Executive Music Producer Giles Martin and Sam Okell, at Abbey Road Studios. Even better, the restoration process unveiled a “lost” performance which was not included in the original releases – “Lately” from the X  album. It is now returned to its rightful position in the concert setlist. INXS long-time manager Chris M. Murphy had spent a decade scouring the world trying to locate the original 35 mm film cans to produce this result. With the search becoming increasingly desperate and just when (almost) everyone had given up hope, the missing canisters were miraculously found in Australia. With the upcoming release of the already critically acclaimed Mystify: Michael Hutchence documentary, Murphy states, “When youre working on a project for so long, theres the fear “Whats everyone going to think? ” That turns into astonishment. Watching it back Michael is better than even I thought he was – how he managed the stage. His voice became more powerful as the gig went along. It was extraordinary to watch – the crowd and band were as one. ” “We were just six blokes from Australia that treated Wembley Stadium like just another pub gig, we went it in with a PA and a few lights and played our asses off. No ego ramps, no back-up singers, no props, no grand pianos etc, just the six of us… the audience went nuts! Thats all we needed! ” comments Tim Farriss from INXS. “This new mix of Live Baby Live captures one of the biggest global sensations at the height of their powers, ” states Executive Music Producer Giles Martin on returning to the original live multi-tracks to create the stunning new Dolby Atmos mix. “INXS are one of the greatest bands to have graced the Wembley Stadium stage. The sheer scale of seeing an audience moving as one to the music is mesmerizing. Working on the film took me back to a time where an audience completely connects with a band without holding up any phones, and the energy in the stadium is mind blowing. ” The recording of this legendary show almost didnt happen. With only days to go before the band were due to play the stadium, Murphy came up with the grand plan to film the special event. Having discovered the group a dozen years previously, he intuitively knew this was INXS and Michael Hutchences “moment. ” This show would be their defining document. Murphy rallied all of his contacts in London like a 1991 version of The Greatest Showman trying to raise the money to film the Wembley show. Legendary director David Mallet, who had worked with the likes of Pink Floyd and David Bowie, accepted the task but needed 17 cameras and a helicopter to shoot this special moment in time, all on expensive 35 mm film. As Chris Murphy and Michael Hutchence stood together side of stage gazing at the sold out crowd, the INXS musicians were already on stage jamming into “Guns in the Sky. ” Hutchence peered way out into the crowd, then with a smile looked back at his mentor and trusted friend Murphy, “So how much are we making for this? ” Murphy, without flinching, rolled two of his fingers into a zero. Then said, “Seventeen cameras and a helicopter mate. ” Hutchence responded, “You motherfucker! ” then ran onto the stage to deliver the performance of his lifetime. Murphy had taken the very bold decision to contribute INXS income from the sold out show to capture what Murphy believed would be the highlight of INXS career. Geoff Kempin, who would later co-found Eagle Rock, was at the time head of PolyGram Video, and he came to the rescue to assist in the funding the filming of Live Baby Live. Who would have known 28 years later that Live Baby Live  would be held up as one of the best live shows ever put to film. A special edition of the Live Baby Live Wembley 1991 soundtrack will be announced in the coming weeks. Six years to the day after Live Aid, Londons famous Wembley Stadium played host to a second concert would go down in history. On 13 July 1991, Aussie superstars INXS delivered the show of their lives at Wembley, with their career-defining gig captured in all its widescreen glory by a spin-off concert film and live album – both of which were titled Live Baby Live. At Wembley, INXS surfed the crest of an almighty wave that first started to swell when they released their breakthrough album, Kick, in 1987, and continued to build with 1990s X: another highly polished pop album that yielded multi-platinum sales and thrust the band into rocks premier league. Listen to Live Baby Live: Wembley Stadium on Apple Music  and Spotify. “The whole band was on fire that night” INXS Wembley Stadium date was just one of many stops on their high-profile Summer XS tour of 1991 and – as the original 11 November 1991 edition of Live Baby Live proved – they were on ferocious form. That first editions 16 tracks were culled from shows in cities ranging from Sydney to Dublin and Rio De Janeiro, and they demonstrated there were few bands on the planet capable of touching INXS at that particular moment in time. The Antipodean stars were on a roll when they arrived in Europe in the summer of 1991. Theyd completed the tours successful “homecoming” leg in Australia during April and May, after which their Summer XS itinerary found them headlining European festival shows from 28 June through to 16 July. To a man, the band agreed the high point of the jaunt was the 13 July show at Wembley Stadium. “A night to remember for all time” “The whole band was on fire that night”, bassist Garry Gary Beers recalled in 2019. “Michael was so good, he sang his heart out and gave every person in the crowd a night to remember for all time. He truly had that amazing ability to make the biggest shows as intimate as the pubs we grew up in musically. ” INXS needed to be on top of their game that night, not least because they were topping a bill of real pedigree. Their headlining slot was preceded by sets from fast-rising indie-dance outfit Jesus Jones, Irish favourites The Hothouse Flowers, San Franciscan rockers Jellyfish, widely-acclaimed British soul-rock outfit Roachford and iconic Blondie star Deborah Harry. However, as director David Mallets recently-restored Live Baby Live  film and its newly-released, 21-track audio counterpart so vividly reveal, INXS were never going to falter. Michael Hutchence and company may have stepped out in front of an awe-inspiring 74, 000 people, but as soon as drummer Jon Farriss hammered out the machine-like rhythm of ‘Guns In The Sky and his colleagues locked in behind him, they never once looked back. “One of the biggest global sensations at the height of their powers” The nights setlist drew heavily on both Kick and X, with vast swathes of the crowd moving as one to ‘New Sensation and hollering back the chorus of the sinewy, blues-based ‘Mystify. Kicking off six consecutive tracks from X, a tense, measured performance of ‘The Stairs ramped up the tension, then gave way to the swaggering, wah-wah-driven ‘Know The Difference, before a soaring ‘Disappear provoked an enormous roar from the crowd. Shrewdly, INXS kept a battery of hits in reserve for the home stretch, which included celebratory versions of ‘Bitter Tears, ‘Suicide Blonde and the biggest, phattest version of their breakthrough hit, ‘What You Need. The latter song culminated in a lengthy call-and-response workout between Hutchence and the crowd; for all his poise and consummate cool, the much-missed frontman was visibly moved by the love his band received that night. “F_ ing hell, it looks like all Englands out there! ” he said, his voice cracking with emotion as ‘Suicide Blonde wound down. If that wasnt enough, encores including ‘Need You Tonight, a heartstring-tugging ‘Never Tear Us Apart and a seven-minute ‘Devil Inside almost brought the venues famous Twin Towers down. By the time the Aussie legends finally relinquished the stage, no one present would have quibbled with executive music producer Giles Martins assertion that theyd just witnessed “one of the biggest global sensations at the height of their powers”. Yet the band also felt that Live Baby Live documented them scaling a once-in-lifetime peak: “We were just six blokes from Australia that treated Wembley Stadium like just another pub gig, ” Tim Farriss said in 2019. “We went in with a PA and a few lights and played our asses off. No ego ramps, no back-up singers, no props, no grand pianos, just the six of us – and the audience went nuts! Thats all we needed! ” Live Baby Live: Wembley Stadium can be bought here.

Available now from Live Baby Live ‘The Stairs is often cited by INXS fans as the best single the band never released and named by Sir Elton John as his favourite ever INXS song. The Stairs was only ever issued as a limited edition live single in Holland making it one of the most highly prized items in the INXS canon. Its truly one of the bands ‘lost classics. This new digital single of ‘The Stairs was recorded on Saturday 13th July 1991, when INXS, one of the worlds most revered and iconic bands, delivered the gig of their lives at Londons Wembley Stadium to 74, 000 ecstatic fans. After a decade and a half on the road the group was at the peak of their live powers and the performance that day shows they were now indeed a world-class stadium band. INXSs Kirk Pengilly says of the song: “The Stairs was one of our favourites to perform live.   It starts simply giving us a breather on stage and then builds & builds right to the end.   I think this (LBL) version is more powerful than the studio recording.  Definitely one of Michaels finest, “social comment” lyrics. At the time Michael Hutchence described ‘The Stairs as “The most ambitious song Ive ever written. ” Guitarist Tim Farriss remembers that it was “Probably one of my favourite songs we ever recorded and a stand out track of Live Baby Live.  Pretty much sums up the ever changing passages of the lives we all lead and how they all intertwine. ” Andrew Farriss who co-wrote the song with Hutchence spoke about the track in 1990 saying “It deals with people in highly urbanised environments not communicating”. Almost thirty years later the song has lost none of its power and is as relevant today as it was then. INXS, one of the worlds most revered and iconic bands, delivered the gig of their lives at Londons Wembley Stadium to 74, 000 ecstatic fans. After a decade and a half on the road the band were at the peak of their live powers and the performance filmed that day shows they were not only a world-class stadium band but the only band that ever had the guts to walk onto the stage at Wembley Stadium in front of 74, 000 people and jam their own intro! INXS played over 2000 shows before singer Michael Hutchences untimely passing 20 years ago, but for many fans, Wembley was THE ONE. Not only were the band on fire, but the audience was too, both band and crowd knew this would be the performance of a lifetime. Whats more there were no screens, no ramps, no backing singers, no props and cell phones – just six guys playing as though their lives depended on it. INXS delivered hit after hit to an ecstatic audience for nearly two hours! The event, called ‘Summer XS, was immortalised in the best-selling long-form video Live Baby Live (directed by David Mallet) and partly inspired by the album of the same name. Twenty-eight years on, Live Baby Live has been painstakingly restored over a six-month period from the original 35mm negative to 4K Ultra HD. Inxs live baby live at wembley stadium trailer. Inxs: baby live at wembley stadium. That opening shot. Brothers in arms. Picture the year 1991. It is July 13th, on the six-year anniversary of the original Live Aid at the same venue – Wembley Stadium in London England. This picture painted, bringing it all together, INXS is in their prime headlining their Summer XS Tour to max crowd of over 73, 000 fans who did not have the capability to record cell phone videos/photos of an event yet. Now, imagine the show professionally documented with multiple cameras, but available in 2019 re-mastered for a special one night only theater release packaged as INXS: Live Baby Live at Wembley Stadium. Sounds amazing, right? Well, on December 9th, it was presented in glorious cinematic widescreen at a list of theaters thanks to Fathom Events.   For those around during the heyday of Australias INXS, attending the Summer XS Tour was nothing less than epic. As far as the Wembley Stadium concert, it would spawn the bands first ever live album, Live Baby Live which was released in November of the same year. The video footage of the event was then re-released as a DVD in 2003 – digitally remixed and mastered in 5. 1 surround sound. Which leads us to present day where the film has been restored from the original 35mm negative where it was gone through shot by shot, repositioning every single one to get the best out of the frame. The newly restored edition made a world premiere at the Byron Bay International Film Festival in late October 2019. Prior to this, special screenings in July had also taken place, including one held in New York city, before it was released in Australia and New Zealand on November 14th via Fathom Events and in Europe areas such U. K., Ireland, Greece, and the Netherlands by Cinevents. Which leads us to the most recent theatrical release on December 9th in theaters across the USA.  As far as the film itself, it starts off in a sea of eager onlookers, as INXS gives their all without hesitation for this Wembley Stadium performance. For this remastered addition they also uncovered the tune “Lately” from 1990s X album in the setlist – a track which somehow had been edited out previously. Wonderful to watch, as Michael Hutchence breezed through the upbeat tracks wearing his half black on white star, and half black on white striped fitted pants, his bandmates pulled off the rest of the magic; the core group consisted of Tim Farriss (lead guitar) Kirk Pengilly (rhythm guitar/saxophone) Garry Gary Beers (bass guitar) Andrew Farriss (keyboards) and Jon Farriss (drums.   With the band feeding off the positive energy of almost 74, 000 people, the only proper way to end an already over the top encore was with “Devil Inside. ” After this glorious moment Hutchence grabs an available guitar and storms over to the amplifier to create some end of show noise feedback of his own accord – stepping out of his comfort zone and connected on an even deeper level with the audience. Naturally a concert of this magnitude from INXS also featured classics such “Mystify Me, ” “Suicide Blonde, ” “New Sensation, ” and there was nothing but pure joy felt by the crowd in attendance. Music aside, the videography of the film really captures the anticipation of being in the crowd along with the essence of the bands on stage personality. In fact, witnessing the saxophone breakdowns and instrumental change-ups can really set the at-home viewer into the virtual inter-working of the live performance. To summarize, the charismatic persona of long-time heartthrob Michael Hutchence directs the audience at a memorable pace. For any and all fans of the late 70s, 80s, and 90s Rock scene, INXS takes it full blast in the special event that should not be missed. As the live theater dates have already passed, the current suggested option remains to check out the vinyl and CD sets of the recording which was released back on November 15th before a DVD/Blu-ray/Digital release of the film is announced. Until then, Cryptic Rock gives the newly remastered edition of INXS: Live Baby Live at Wembley Stadium 4. 5 out of 5 stars. The vinyl & CD formats feature unseen imagery from the show, new essays from the band and sleeve notes by broadcaster and uber INXS fan Jamie East, who was in the crowd that day. On Saturday 13 July 1991 INXS delivered the gig of their lives at Londons Wembley Stadium to 74, 000 ecstatic fans. After a decade and a half on the road the group was at the peak of their live powers and the performance that day shows they were now indeed a world-class stadium band. As uDiscover Music previously reported, the film of Live Baby Live will also be in cinemas for the very first time. This masterclass in showmanship and musicianship has been painstakingly restored over a twelve-month period from the original 35mm negative to Ultra HD 4K. Now presented in cinematic 16:9 widescreen for this first ever Theatrical exhibition, the original film was presented in 4:3 aspect ratio, but the restored version was created by shot-by-shot repositioning to get the best out of the frame. To accompany the astonishing visual upgrade, the audio is now be presented in full Dolby Atmos, created by Giles Martin, the bands Executive Music Director, and Sam Okell at Abbey Road Studios. The concert film will be in cinemas in Australia and New Zealand from November 14, North and South America from 9 December, and in the UK on 27 November. Check the official website  for local listings. The bands long-time manager Chris M. Murphy had spent a decade scouring the world trying to locate the original 35mm film cans to produce this result. With the search becoming increasingly desperate and just when (almost) everyone had given up hope, the missing canisters were miraculously found in Australia. Murphy says “When youre working on a project for so long, theres the fear ‘Whats everyone going to think? That turns into astonishment. Watching it back Michael is better than even I thought he was – how he managed the stage. His voice became more powerful as the gig went along. It was extraordinary to watch – the crowd and band were as one”. INXS Tim Farriss “This was just one of many great shows I was lucky enough to play with my best friends and brothers”. Bassist Garry Gary Beers remembers “The whole band was on fire that night but especially at our ‘pointy end – Michael was so good as he sang his heart out and gave every person in the crowd a night to remember for all time.  He truly had that amazing ability to make the biggest shows as intimate as the pubs we grew up in musically”. The storyline was great, taking a true story about Preston Castle in Ione, CA (The movie was shot inside Preston Castle) with a 2019 twist to it.
Kevin Pollak played the role perfectly as the bad guy, it was like he was made for the role.
Mena Suvari was amazing in her role as Anna. And rest of the cast is awesome!
It will show what happens inside that place, Karma does exist! And if you are from the area the things we hear about the place is true.
I love this movie! It has great chemistry between the hunted and the humans. The ending was perfect!
I truly enjoyed it, feel it's worth seeing and am hoping to see it again in a theater soon.

Not scary, a few jump scare moments, but nothing new compared to other films from this genre. The story unfolds and has potential but just falls short in many ways. Acting is not bad, but not great, overall just average for me.

Ok, it's low budget. But it is still just crap. Crappy acting, crappy writing, crappy everything. Though as a DP I give the cinematography a pass cuz I'm sure he had no money and high school kids as crew. The film is that bad. And 7 to watch it. C'mon! I guess fake accounts are easy to make. Any review praising this film must be associated with it. In fact one of the producers reviewed it and gave it a 10. That's hard up.

Country: India
Drama
Chapaak. Chhapaak Story: The life of a nineteen-year-old girl takes a turn when she is subjected to a horrific acid attack. But she resolves to fight for justice and reclaim her life. Chhapaak Review: Meghna Gulzars ‘Chhapaak is inspired by the story of real life acid attack survivor, Laxmi Agarwal, who has become a symbol of strength and inspiration for many women. The film is a fictionalized account with Deepika Padukone playing the central character Malti, who is attacked in broad daylight on the streets of Delhi by a friend of the family, Bashir Khan aka Babbu and his aide. As the narrative chooses a non-linear route, we first meet Malti when she is on a job hunt – consciously trying to move on from the emotional scars that the heinous crime has left her with. For the physical scars, she has to go through a number of complicated surgeries. In fact, far from the dreams she nursed of being a singer, her life is now an intersection of her work with an NGO for acid victims, her multiple surgeries and her court cases. Yet, the film steers away from melodrama or manipulation, and instead gives us a powerful protagonist whose resolve to fight is punctuated with her determined smiles, the pain in her eyes and her indomitable spirit. As support from her family dwindles owing to her brothers illness and fathers death, it is Maltis lawyer Archana (Madhurjeet Sarghi) who stands by her through her arduous journey. From Maltis PIL to ban the sale of acid to amendments in the acid violence legislation, her team of women lawyers, take on the system. Her other main support comes from Amol (Vikrant Massey) who employs her to work for his NGO. Deepika Padukone is the soul of the film, delivering a brilliant, immersive performance. In fact, there are many scenes where her act will move you to tears – like the one where she holds up an earring to her face but realizes now she cant put it on. Or her piercing cry when she sees her face for the first time in a mirror after the attack. And one where she determinedly tells Amol, “Mujhe party karni hain. ” Precisely why Maltis character is a winner because at no point does she succumb to self-pity. And as Deepika embraces her character completely, her transformation is enhanced through effective prosthetics. Devoid of even a hint of glamour, all we see is Malti throughout. Both Vikrant Massey and Madhurjeet Sarghi pitch in very commendable performances. The story sends out a strong message and is undoubtedly a brave attempt, however the edit seems choppy in places and certain parts of the narrative seem a tad stretched in the second half. The music tracks stand out – with ‘Chhapaak title track and ‘Nok Jhok (soundtrack by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, lyrics by Gulzar) adding to the poignancy of the mood. ‘Chhapaak is not a film that lets you go easy, just as one begins to settle in to think Malti has managed to get better of her perpetrator, it jolts you with a few grim, uncomfortable reminders. ‘Chhaapak is a sensitive film with a delicate, yet powerful, handling of a heinous crime against women, and an important story that needs to be heard.

Chhapaak actor. Chhapaak promotion. Chhapaak full movie. Malti (Deepika Padukone) was attacked with acid on a street in New Delhi, in 2005. Through her story, the film makes an attempt to understand the on-ground consequences of surviving an acid attack in India, the medico-legal-social state of affairs that transpires after the acid has been hurled and the face is irreparably burnt. Directed by Meghna Gulzar, Produced by Fox Star Studios, Deepika Padukone, Govind Singh Sandhu, and Meghna Gulzar, written by Atika Chohan and Meghna Gulzar, Chhapaak is set to hit theatres on 10th January 2020. Based on the life of Laxmi Agarwal, it stars Padukone as an acid attack survivor, alongside Vikrant Massey. [4] The film was announced on 24 December 2018 by Padukone on her Twitter account; it marks her first production venture. Filming took place from March to June 2019 in New Delhi and Mumbai. [5] Days before the film's release, Padukone visited students who were brutalised during the 2020 JNU Attack, which led to a divided response on Twitter. A few right-wing magazines later wrongly reported that the religion of the acid thrower in the film was changed from a Muslim into a Hindu character. The film was theatrically released in India on 10 January 2020. [6] The film was allowed by the government to be exhibited without payment of taxes in the states of Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. [7] 8] 9] It received positive reviews from critics. [10] 11] Premise [ edit] The film is based on the real-life story of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal. [12] Cast [ edit] Release [ edit] On 10 December 2019, the official trailer was launched by Fox Star Studios. The film was theatrically released on 10 January 2020 in India. [15] The film was allowed by the government to be exhibited without payment of taxes in the states of Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. [7] 8] 9] On 7 January 2020, Padukone joined a protest-gathering at Jawaharlal Nehru University against the 2020 JNU Attack against left wing students and passage of CAA 2019. [16] 17] Bharatiya Janata Party s student wing, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad is blamed for the attack. [18] The visit angered BJP leaders who expressed it in social media. [18] Soon enough, the hashtags BoycottChhapaak and BlockDeepika began trending in Indian Twitter with members of the incumbent Bharatiya Janata Party contributing in its proliferation. [16] 19] 20] 21] In response, ISupportDeepika was floated which gained greater traction and by the end of the day, her follower count had increased significantly. [20] 22] Actor Varun Dhawan talked about similar calls for boycott of his film Dilwale, and stated that the boycott may hurt the business, so it is used as a scare tactics meant to prevent people from expressing their opinion in public. He supported Deepika in condemning the attacks stating it is wrong to not do it. [23] On 8 January, social media users criticized the filmmaker Meghna Gulzar alleging that she changed the name and religion of the characters in the film. [24] Several right-wing magazines, Swarajya and Opindia wrongly reported that the name of the attacker who was a Muslim in real life, was changed into a Hindu name "Rajesh" in the film. [18] BJP MP and Minister of State for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Babul Supriyo called the change deliberate and "absolute hypocrisy. 25] BJP MP from South Delhi, Ramesh Bidhuri made calls to public for a boycott of the movie. [25] BJP MP Subramanian Swamy called it a defamation and informed legal action against the makers for this. [18] Mumbai Mirror reported that in past the filmmakers making films based on real life incidents had the liberty to change the names as well as the storyline in their films. [24] The visit to JNU by Deepika was seen by Mumbai Mirror as the reason for an aggressive stand was taken against the film. [24] These claims were debunked by the co founder of Newslaundry Abhinandan Sekhri, who had watched a special screening of the film Chhapaak in Delhi. He stated that the claims of the attacker belonging to the Hindu religion were false, since the movie showed him as a Muslim. [18] Journalist Radhika Sharma from PTI reported that Rajesh was the name of Maltis boyfriend. The acid attacker was called Bashir Khan urf Babboo in the film. [18] Advocate Aparna Bhat, who represented Agarwal in the case fought at Patiala House Courts, pursued legal action against the makers for not mentioning her in the film, to protect her identity and preserve her integrity. 26] 27] Reception [ edit] On the review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, the film holds a rating of 86% based on 14 reviews. [28] Teo Bugbee of The New York Times reviewed that Chhapaak "succeeds in balancing extremes. It is at once a pleasing and buoyant inspirational story, and a realistic depiction of the brutal aftermath of acid attacks. 29] Shubhra Gupta of The Indian Express credited the film for portraying "drama without dreaded melodrama" and highlighted Padukone's "solid, realised performance" to be its prime asset. [30] Anna tticad of first post in a mixed review wrote"The blend Massey achieves is what Chhapaak needed as a whole. Without that, what we are left with are good intentions, a heart in the right place, a major star taking a huge risk with an unorthodox role and a bunch of pluses that somehow do not come together to deliver an immersive experience. " 31] Writing for The Hindu, Namrata Joshi summarised that "Padukones performance and Meghna Gulzars direction ensure that Chhapaak is like a splash that leaves you misty with emotions, if not entirely drenched. 32] Ankur Pathak of HuffPost labelled it "a quietly powerful social commentary, a film that never allows you to be comfortable" and considered Padukone's performance to be a career best. [33] Uday Bhatia of Mint wrote that it "earnestly highlights a depressingly common horror" adding that it "deals squarely with its subject without quite transcending it. 34] In a mixed review, Anupama Chopra praised Padukone's performance but added that the film "hovers dangerously close to becoming a public service announcement. The messaging becomes bigger than the movie, which reduces the impact. 35] Conversely, Sukanya Verma of commended Gulzar for documenting " Chhapaak ' s grim reality barefacedly without losing sight of its character's quiet determination to fight the reasons that make such heinous crimes possible in the first place. 36] Box office [ edit] Chhapaak earned 4. 77 crore at the domestic box office on its opening day. On the second day, the film collected 6. 90 crore. On the third day, the film collected 7. 35 crore, taking total opening weekend collection to 19. 02 crore. [3] As of 31 January 2020, with a net of 39. 35 crore in India and 16. 03 crore overseas, the film has a worldwide gross collection of 55. 38crore. [3] The film has been a commercially successful venture considering it is a critically acclaimed art film. The film also stars Vikrant Massey, who is seen playing the role of Amol, an NGO owner who works for acid attack survivors. Watch Chhapaak trailer here: While Chhapaak is being applauded by critics and Bollywood celebrities, the film seems to have not been able to impress the audience. 's reviewer Ananya Bhattacharya gave the film 4 out of 5 stars and called it an important film. The film received tough competition from Ajay Devgn's Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, which is unstoppable at the box office. In just three days of its release, the film is expected to earn Rs 50 crore. Apart from these two films, Rajinikanth's Darbar also hit screens last week. Darbar is said to be a film by a Rajini fan for all the Rajini fans. Coming back to Chhapaak, Deepika Padukone's performance in the film is being called the actress's best so far. While the box office numbers in the coming days will tell if the film is a hit or not, Chhapaak has certainly touched many hearts. It is a beautiful tribute to hundreds of courageous and resilient women who suffered an acid attack and inspires them to remain hopeful. The fact that family members turned up against these girls broke my heart... January 10, 2020 6:37PM PT Director Meghna Gulzar and Indian superstar Deepika Padukone are affecting without excess in this fact-based drama about the aftermath of a horrible crime. Theres a scene late in “ Chhapaak, ” writer-director Meghna Gulzar s stirringly crafted and intelligently uplifting fact-based drama, where Malti (Deepika Padukone) the survivor of a horrific assault, tentatively expresses her warm feelings to Amol (Vikrant Massey) the crusading activist who has taken up the cause of women who have suffered similar attacks. But, true to form for this fiery idealist, Amol gruffly interrupts her romantic overtures. “This stuff, ” he insists, “belongs in the movies. ” Its tempting to read the exchange as Gulzars meta commentary on her own movie, which scrupulously avoids the emotional and stylistic extremes that, for better or worse, have come to define much of contemporary Indian cinema (and not just for Western audiences. To put it another way: If you walk into “ Chhapaak ” expecting typical Bollywood razzamatazz, you may be disappointed. There are no lavish production numbers, no exhilarating romantic interludes, no slo-mo acrobatics of any sort — and only two songs, neither of which are sung by anyone onscreen. On the other hand, if youre up for a conventional yet compelling tale of an exceptional young woman who overcomes brutish mistreatment and regains control of her destiny, you wont miss the usual song-and-dance at all. Working with co-writer Atika Chohan, Gulzar has taken a reasonable amount of dramatic license in telling the real-life story of Laxmi Agarwal, a 15-year-old New Delhi girl who, in 2005, was splashed with acid and hideously disfigured by a thirtysomething man whose stalkerish advances she had rebuffed. In “Chhapaak, ” the victim is slightly older, and known as Malti. Although Gulzar presents the attack early in the film — shockingly, but with sympathetic discretion — she doesnt explicitly detail motivation for the crime until a third-act flashback. In the meantime, she smartly focuses on Maltis efforts to will herself out of despair and depression, undergo a series of restorative surgeries, and press a legal case against her attacker. Maltis chief allies are Archana Bajaj (Madhurjeet Sarghi) a crusading attorney who rails against a national legal system that appears to treat acid assaults on women (a commonplace crime in India) as scarcely worse than misdemeanors, and the aforementioned Amol, the type of single-minded zealot who would serve as buzzkill at a party celebrating a legal victory because, well, he didnt think the ruling went far enough. (It speaks volumes about Vikrant Masseys underlying charisma that his character doesnt come across as a complete pill. ) Occasionally calling to mind socially conscious Warner Bros. melodramas of the 1930s, “Chhapaak” repeatedly emphasizes how ludicrously easy it is (or at least was, until recently) for acid-tossers to procure their assault weapon of choice throughout India. Worse, as attorney Bajaj explains in a key scene that is all the more potent for being so matter-of-factly subdued, the attackers are able to avoid appropriately long prison sentences because, according to the criminal code, throwing acid at someone is no more heinous than dousing them with hot tea. (A nice touch: Bajaj has ample time to do her crusading because her husband, played by Anand Tiwari, assumes without complaint most of the day-to-day parenting responsibilities for their daughter — whose growth, not incidentally, is a primary indication of time passages in the film. ) As Malti, Indian superstar Deepika Padukone relies less on exceptionally convincing makeup than straight-from-the-heart conviction to give her multifaceted performance the solid ring of truth. Neither she nor Gulzar resort to undue yanking of heartstrings while charting the evolution of Maltis resolve and recognition of her self-worth. At the same time, however, Padukone brings welcome touches of infectious humor and tart sassiness to the character, particularly while dealing with Amol and interacting with real-life acid-maimed women who appear (most notably, and affectingly, during a train trip) in bit parts. Two observations on the films structure are in order. First: When the audience finally gets to see the untouched beauty of Malti in the third-act flashback, were brutally reminded of the sheer monstrousness of her attacker, just at the perfect time to make the films resolution even more satisfying. On the other hand, be forewarned: The epilogue is quite capable of slapping the smile right off your face. “Scare Me, ” written and directed by first-time filmmaker Josh Ruben, is a spook show stripped to the basics. A boy and a girl, Fred and Fanny (Ruben and Aya Cash of “Youre the Worst”) hole up in a snowbound cabin swapping scary tales by the fireplace. He postures as a horror novelist, director, screenwriter and. The experiment known as Biosphere 2 may be best remembered now — when remembered at all — as something that spawned “Bio-Dome, ” the godawful 1996 comedy that is nonetheless many peoples favorite movie involving Pauly Shore or Stephen Baldwin. This is one of those songs you listen to where you're on a plane at night and the world below you is adorned with lights. As a longtime fan of Gorillaz and Damon's past work, I was expecting something extravagant from this, however it just felt like an extended tour video. the irony in a title like "reject false icons" and the subsequent applause was mind-boggling. don't get me wrong, I loved hearing some classic Gorillaz (M1-A1, Latin Simone, and O Green World especially) but I know anyone who wasn't a mega fan wouldve been quite bored- this includes my stepdad who sadly was roped into this theatre.
3.5/10 rounded to a 4 for benefit of the doubt.

If this was cut down to a 10-20 minute clip on their facebook page it would have been great.
There was zero overarching story/meaning behind it, just a bunch of artists recording and performing 2 albums. which could have been interesting but since there were no interviews, no meaningful interactions, zero in depth explanation of anything. it wasn't.
It felt exactly like someone going on holiday and just filming a 20second clip every day and stitching it together when they got home. But instead of just showing it to whoever was on the vacation and some friends and laughing at the memories and antics they made it 1.5 hours long, charged 16 euros, hyped it up by being all mysterious, and bored the crap out of everyone watching.
I was there with a friend and long term fan of the gorillaz (since album 1) and the first thing he said to me when the lights came on was 'I tought it was never gonna end! Finally. br> I think that says enough...

I could hardly hear what people were saying, I guess Grace Jones could not make an appearance (bummer, not really, but that would have helped justify the 17 ticket) and the after credit footage was not memorable.
To reiterate on the audio issue, the music was not loud enough! Feel Good Inc. sounds great at any volume, but I really wanted to be blown away.
